This policy explains what information Bennison CPA and Consultants, PLLC (“the firm,” “we,” “I”) collects through bennisoncpa.com, why we collect it, and what we do with it. It covers this website only. Information you provide once you become a client is governed by your engagement letter and by the confidentiality obligations that apply to CPAs.
What this site collects
The only information this website asks you for is what you type into the contact form: your name, your email address, an optional phone number, the category of help you are looking for, and whatever context you choose to write in the message field.
Please do not send Social Security numbers, bank account or routing numbers, tax documents, or other sensitive financial information through the contact form. It is a general inquiry form, not a secure document channel. Once we are working together you will get access to a secure client portal for anything sensitive.
How the form works
Form submissions are processed by Formspree, a third-party form service, which delivers the message to the firm's email. Your submission passes through and is stored on Formspree's systems in the course of that delivery. Formspree handles the data under its own privacy policy, available at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy.
How the information is used
We use what you send for one purpose: to respond to you and to scope potential work. Specifically, to
- reply to your question and follow up on next steps;
- determine whether the firm is a good fit for what you need; and
- prepare a proposal or engagement letter if you decide to move forward.
We do not sell your information. We do not rent, trade, or share it with third parties for their own marketing. We do not add you to a mailing list because you used the contact form.
Who else can see it
Beyond Formspree and the firm's email provider, both of which simply carry or store the message, we disclose contact form information only where required by law, legal process, or the professional standards that apply to CPAs.
How long it is kept
Inquiries that do not turn into engagements are retained for up to two years and then deleted, so we have context if you circle back. If you become a client, your records are retained under the schedule set out in your engagement letter and under applicable professional and regulatory record-retention requirements, which are longer.
You can ask us to delete an inquiry sooner. Email craig@bennisoncpa.com and we will remove it, except where we are required to keep it.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no advertising cookies, no marketing cookies, and no cross-site trackers. There is no Facebook pixel, no Google Ads tag, and no retargeting of any kind.
The site stores one item in your browser's local storage: your light or dark color theme preference, so the site remembers it on your next visit. That value never leaves your browser and is not readable by us. Clearing your browser data removes it.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see aggregate traffic patterns: how many people visited, which pages they read, and roughly where in the world they came from. It is cookieless, it does not fingerprint visitors, and it does not build a profile of you or follow you across other websites. We cannot identify an individual visitor from it.
Hosting and security
The site is served over HTTPS through Cloudflare, which processes standard technical data such as IP addresses in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. No system is perfectly secure, so please use the judgment described above about what you send through a web form.
Your choices
You are never required to use the contact form. You can email or call the firm directly instead. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, and to be told whether we sell it. We do not. To exercise any of these, email craig@bennisoncpa.com.
Children
This site is directed at business owners and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new “last updated” date. Material changes to how we handle contact form information will be described in the updated text rather than made quietly.
